Where it came from
The Storm of Sandikai was issued as a promotional card within the Local Game Store series, specifically designated as card LGS107. These promos were distributed to hobby shops to incentivize local play and community participation, serving as a limited-edition incentive for players engaging with the game during its organized play cycle. The card represents a niche but recognizable addition to the weapon category, designed to encourage specific deck-building synergies centered around desert-themed mechanics.
The visual direction for the card was intended to capture the intensity of a magically infused sandstorm, utilizing the stylistic aesthetic common to the set's broader fantasy art direction. While the specific illustrator's notes remain internal to the publisher's development team, the piece was received by the player base as a functional utility card. Its rarity stems primarily from the logistical nature of its distribution rather than a high market valuation, solidifying its status as a collector's curiosity for those tracking complete promotional sets.
