Where it came from
The HoHos Funko Pop figure, part of the Ad Icons series, celebrates the iconic chocolate snack cake introduced by Hostess in 1967. Originally marketed as a premium counterpart to the Twinkie, the HoHo became a staple of American lunchbox culture due to its distinct cylindrical shape and creamy filling. This figure honors the nostalgic branding of the snack, which was famously promoted through the mischievous Hostess characters that defined the brand's mid-century advertising presence.
Designed in the signature Funko aesthetic, this figure captures the personified snack cake with a playful, minimalist charm typical of the Ad Icons line. It reflects the broader trend of brands leveraging retro sentimentality to appeal to adult collectors who associate these products with their childhood. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the Ad Icons series, a segment of the hobby that specifically seeks out figures based on historical commercial mascots and food packaging.
