Kofi Kingston Prototype

The Kofi Kingston Pop figure, numbered 31 in the WWE line, was released by Funko during the early stages of their expansion into sports-related collectibles. It commemorates the high-flying persona of the wrestler, who was a central figure in the WWE mid-card scene at the time of the figure's initial production. The design reflects the company’s signature stylized aesthetic, focusing on the character's recognizable ring attire and physical traits typical of the first generation of WWE Pop vinyls.

Funko’s design team utilized their standard vinyl construction to capture the essence of the wrestler, aiming for a balance between their trademark bobble-head aesthetic and the specific visual branding of the WWE. Upon release, these figures were primarily targeted at wrestling enthusiasts and long-term collectors of vinyl toys. The reception was generally favorable among the fandom, marking the beginning of a long-standing partnership between Funko and the WWE that would eventually grow to include hundreds of distinct character variants.
