Minerva McGonagall (Cat)

Released as part of the initial expansion of the Funko Pop! Harry Potter line, this figure depicts Professor Minerva McGonagall in her Animagus form. The design reflects the character's signature tabby cat appearance, complete with the distinctive spectacle-shaped markings around the eyes, which serve as a nod to her human alter ego. It was created to provide collectors with a whimsical representation of the Hogwarts Transfiguration professor, capturing a pivotal moment from the series' lore.

The figure was produced during a period when Funko was rapidly broadening its Harry Potter collection to include not just core student characters, but also the staff and magical creatures of the Wizarding World. The design choice to capture McGonagall as a cat was intended to delight fans of J.K. Rowling's books and the film adaptations, where her ability to shift forms is a fundamental aspect of her identity. Upon release, it was well-received by collectors who favored the inclusion of 'creature' variants alongside traditional character figurines.
