Where it came from
100 Incredible LEGO Builds, designated as BLOCKSSPECIAL-1, was produced as a compilation publication rather than a traditional building set. It was released to celebrate the depth and creativity of the global fan community, documenting some of the most intricate and imaginative fan-made models that emerged during a period of rising interest in adult LEGO building. By highlighting community-driven designs, the book serves as a historical snapshot of the techniques and creative aspirations that defined mid-2010s fan culture.
The book features contributions from various master builders who sought to push the limits of standard brick usage. It focuses on showcasing diverse architectural styles and sculptural projects, emphasizing how enthusiasts move beyond the included instructions of official retail sets. It was received as an inspirational resource for the hobbyist community, providing a curated collection of techniques that encourage viewers to move toward original, free-form construction.
