Where it came from
Released in 1993, this set was part of a series of promotional items distributed to retail store employees. It was designed as a modular construction kit to demonstrate the versatility of the 2x2 steep sloped roof tiles in black, a specialized component that provided builders with a sharper architectural angle compared to standard roof slopes available at the time.
The design focused on utility and parts accessibility, emphasizing the functional role of the slope piece within the broader building system. While not a conventional retail set intended for the general public, it is well-regarded by collectors for its niche status and for providing a concentrated collection of these distinct architectural elements.
