The 4 x 4 Corner Bricks set, released under the number 217-2, arrived in 1970 as part of the expansion of the Lego basic building element series. During this era, Lego focused on providing supplementary packs of specific geometry to bolster the creative potential of existing sets, moving away from the more rigid, predetermined builds of the late 1960s. This set provided builders with eight corner-shaped bricks, specifically designed to allow for right-angle wall structures and more complex architectural detailing.
