Where it came from
The 8-Stud LEGO Storage Brick Drawer, model 5005718, represents an expansion of the LEGO brand’s lifestyle and home organization line. Developed to marry functional furniture with the iconic aesthetic of the standard LEGO brick, these modular units were designed to allow users to stack them like real building blocks. They serve as a practical storage solution for loose bricks or household items while maintaining the distinct visual identity of the toy system.
The design of these drawers is credited to the ongoing collaboration between the LEGO Group and Room Copenhagen, a Danish design firm specializing in licensed home goods. The aesthetic aim was to capture the recognizable geometry of the classic 2x4 LEGO brick, scaled up significantly to create a utilitarian piece of decor. Upon release, the product line was well-received by fans seeking a cohesive, branded way to organize collections without sacrificing the playful look that defines the LEGO brand.
