Where it came from
Released in 2016 as part of the LEGO Friends theme, the Amusement Park Bumper Cars set was designed to capture the vibrant atmosphere of a summer carnival. It arrived during a period when the theme was expanding into larger, interactive location-based builds, focusing on providing young builders with kinetic play features like the rotating platform and the spinning bumper cars themselves.
The set features two mini-doll figures, Emma and Andrea, and incorporates a modular design philosophy that allows it to be connected with other Amusement Park sets released that same year. Its aesthetic leans heavily on the signature Friends color palette of bright pastels and teals, a design choice intended to differentiate the line from the more primary-colored offerings of LEGO City while maintaining the high quality of structural engineering associated with the brand.
