Where it came from
The 10009-1 Assorted Blue Bricks set was released during the late 1990s as a functional extension to the standard construction systems. Produced during a period when the brand sought to offer supplemental creative tools, this set was designed as a utilitarian 'parts pack' rather than a themed building kit. Its primary purpose was to provide builders with a high volume of monochromatic elements to support the expansion of custom MOCs (My Own Creations) and city landscapes.
The aesthetic design reflects the classic, simple geometric language of the brand's core building system. The selection was curated to focus purely on modular versatility, prioritizing the blue color palette to allow for consistent architectural detailing. Upon release, these bulk packs were well-received by the enthusiast community for their practical value, serving as a staple resource for collectors looking to move beyond the limitations of standard retail playsets.
