Where it came from
The Bane Fun Pack, released in 2016 as part of the Lego Dimensions expansion series, was designed to integrate the physical building experience with digital console gameplay. It features a minifigure of the iconic DC Comics antagonist Bane, accompanied by a buildable Drill Driver vehicle, allowing players to unlock character-specific abilities within the game world. The set was created by the Lego Group in partnership with TT Games to bridge the gap between traditional construction toys and the toys-to-life interactive gaming trend that was prominent during that period.
The minifigure design reflects Bane's modern aesthetic, characterized by his signature mask and athletic build. The accompanying Drill Driver was engineered with the versatility typical of the theme, offering three distinct configurations that players could discover by progressing through the game's levels. While the Lego Dimensions line was eventually discontinued in 2017, the Bane Fun Pack remains a recognizable entry for fans of the DC Comics character and Lego collectors interested in the unique cross-media design language of the era.
