Where it came from
The Batgirl figure from the NYCC2016-1 set was released as a promotional exclusive during the 2016 New York Comic Con. Produced to coincide with the event's high-traffic atmosphere, this limited-run collectible served as a commemorative piece for fans of the DC Comics character, capturing a distinct interpretation of the heroine designed to appeal to both long-time enthusiasts and convention-goers looking for unique event-specific memorabilia.
The design of this iteration draws from the modern aesthetic of the character, emphasizing the functional and tactical elements of the costume. The figure reflects the collaborative effort between event organizers and licensing partners to provide a stylized depiction that balances playability with display-oriented detail. Upon release, it was well-received within the collecting community for its specificity to the event and the relative scarcity that naturally follows such a high-profile convention release.
