Decades later, the character was reimagined by writer Grant Morrison during his 2006 run on the main Batman title. Morrison repurposed the Zur-En-Arrh persona as a psychological contingency, a backup personality Bruce Wayne programmed into his own mind to survive a complete mental breakdown. This iteration transformed the costume from a strange space suit into a gritty symbol of a fractured psyche, turning the bright colors into a striking juxtaposition against the character's darker modern mythology.
