Where it came from
Released in 2015 as part of The LEGO Movie tie-in sets, the Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack (70817-1) captures a specific, high-energy sequence from the film where Batman encounters an enraged Unikitty. The set was designed to capitalize on the film's unexpected critical and commercial success, providing fans with a compact build that highlighted the irreverent humor of the movie and its unique take on established DC Comics characters.
The design of the set focuses on the contrast between the stoic, brooding aesthetic of Batman and the chaotic, vibrant personality of Unikitty. It features an exclusive 'Angry Kitty' expression, showcasing the designers' commitment to replicating the film's slapstick tone within the constraints of a small, accessible play set. Upon release, it was well-received by collectors for including a highly detailed Batman minifigure and a unique variant of the popular Unikitty character.
