Where it came from
The LEGO Fortnite Battle Bus, released under set number 77073-1 in 2024, was developed as part of a landmark collaboration between the LEGO Group and Epic Games. The set captures the iconic hot air balloon vehicle that serves as the central deployment mechanism in the Fortnite Battle Royale mode, representing a major milestone in the integration of physical building sets with the digital sandbox of the Fortnite universe.
The design of the set focuses on translating the distinct aesthetic of the game—characterized by its stylized, rugged construction—into a functional LEGO model. It features a recognizable hot air balloon structure atop a bus chassis, complete with the franchise's signature colorful motifs. The set was conceived to appeal to both long-time LEGO enthusiasts and the game's expansive community, prioritizing recognizable play features such as the removable roof and included character minifigures.
