Where it came from
Bladvic's Rumble Bear was released in 2014 as part of the LEGO Legends of Chima theme. The set depicts Bladvic, a member of the Bear Tribe, piloting a large, mechanical bear vehicle intended to assist his kin in the conflict over the powerful energy source known as Chi. The theme was developed by LEGO to coincide with a multi-platform narrative spanning television animation and construction sets, focusing on anthropomorphic animal factions battling for control of their mystical homeland.
The design of the set reflects the aesthetic of the Chima line, which utilized a bold, saturated color palette and stylized mechanical elements to differentiate the various animal tribes. As a mid-sized set, the Rumble Bear features a cockpit for the Bladvic minifigure and articulated limbs, emphasizing the playability and action-oriented design choices common to the series. Upon its release, it was regarded as a quintessential representation of the theme's imaginative approach to character-based vehicle design.
