Blocks magazine issue 4 -- alternative cover

Blocks magazine was launched as an independent publication dedicated to the Lego hobby, aiming to provide adult fans with a level of depth, behind-the-scenes reporting, and community-focused journalism that official brand publications rarely offered. Issue 4, released during the magazine's early formative period, was notable for its specific focus on the intersection of building techniques and fan culture, establishing the magazine's reputation as a serious, community-driven resource.

This specific alternative cover edition was produced to cater to the collector market, offering a unique visual variant that distinguished it from the standard newsstand release. While the magazine’s design direction was helmed by a small, dedicated editorial team passionate about the medium, the creation of alternative covers served as a deliberate nod to comic book and hobbyist traditions, allowing the magazine to build brand loyalty among its most dedicated readers by treating each issue as a tangible, collectible artifact.
