Where it came from
Blocks magazine issue 56 was published in April 2019 as an independent monthly publication dedicated to the LEGO hobby. This specific edition centered its editorial focus on the launch of the LEGO Star Wars 20th anniversary sets, providing readers with behind-the-scenes interviews with designers and a comprehensive look at the evolution of the theme over two decades. It served as a bridge between the company's historical legacy and contemporary building trends, offering a blend of set reviews, technical building tips, and community showcases.
The publication's visual identity for this issue maintained the brand's commitment to high-quality photography and clean, informative layouts intended to appeal to the adult fan of LEGO community. Designed to provide deeper context than standard marketing materials, the issue was received as a valuable resource for collectors interested in the nuances of set development. It reflected the ongoing effort by independent publishers to document the history of plastic brick construction through professional journalistic standards.
