Where it came from
Released in 1974, the 793-1 Blue Storage Box served as a practical accessory within the early LEGO product catalog. During this era, the company focused on expanding its range of storage solutions to help enthusiasts organize an increasing number of plastic bricks, reflecting a shift toward viewing the system as a long-term hobby rather than a transient toy.
The design prioritizes industrial simplicity and durability, featuring a deep blue plastic exterior that complements the primary color scheme of mid-seventies sets. It was engineered to fit into the broader organizational ecosystem of the time, allowing users to stack or partition their collections. While it lacks the intricate branding of modern storage containers, it remains a notable example of functional mid-century utility design.
