Where it came from
Released in 2008 as part of a series of LEGO Star Wars magnets, the Boba Fett Magnet (850643-1) was designed as a promotional collectible for fans of the bounty hunter. These magnets were typically sold as polybagged sets containing a minifigure glued to a 2x4 magnet brick, intended to serve as functional desk or refrigerator decor for enthusiasts of the Star Wars franchise.
The minifigure included in this set features the classic design associated with the original trilogy's portrayal of Boba Fett. While the minifigure itself remains a staple for collectors of the theme, the production of these magnet sets was eventually discontinued in favor of non-glued minifigure displays. As a relic of the mid-2000s LEGO catalog, it represents a period when character-specific merchandise was frequently integrated into standard building block product lines.
