Where it came from
BrickJournal is a long-running publication dedicated to the hobbyist community of adult fans of LEGO. Issue 73, released in the early 2020s, continues the magazine's tradition of exploring custom builds, building techniques, and interviews with notable designers within the brick-building ecosystem. The magazine was founded by Joe Meno, who sought to bridge the gap between casual play and the highly technical, artistic mastery often seen in community-led conventions and online exhibitions.
The editorial direction of BrickJournal is focused on documenting the evolution of brick-based art and providing tutorials for complex structural techniques. Issue 73 follows this established format, featuring contributors who share their design processes and insights into specific themes. It remains a primary historical record for the adult fan community, archiving both official set trends and the creative ingenuity of independent builders who push the functional limitations of the plastic brick system.
