Where it came from
Released in 2018, this book serves as an official architectural and historical chronicle of the LEGO House, the brand's immersive experience center located in Billund, Denmark. It was produced to commemorate the completion of the structure, which was designed by the architectural firm BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) to resemble giant interlocking bricks. The publication documents the long development process, from the initial architectural vision to the complex engineering required to stack the white gallery modules in a modular, brick-like configuration.
The book provides insight into the philosophy behind the 'Home of the Brick,' illustrating how the space functions as both a public plaza and an interactive museum. It highlights the collaboration between the LEGO Group and the design team to create a landmark that reflects the core creative identity of the company. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans and architecture enthusiasts for its detailed photography and behind-the-scenes look at the technical challenges involved in bringing a life-sized LEGO building into reality.
