BuildToExpress Set

The LEGO BuildToExpress set, released under the LEGO Education banner, was designed to function as a versatile classroom tool rather than a traditional construction kit. Developed by educational specialists within the LEGO Group, the set was intended to facilitate communication and collaborative problem-solving by encouraging students to build metaphorical models of their thoughts and ideas. It stems from the 'Serious Play' methodology, which emphasizes the use of bricks as a shared language to navigate abstract concepts and interpersonal dynamics in an academic or professional setting.

The design of the set is intentionally abstract, featuring a curated selection of elements that prioritize versatility over specific character or structure creation. By moving away from predefined instructions, the set invites users to assign their own meanings to the components, fostering creative confidence and active engagement. It has been well-received by educators as a practical instrument for scaffolding dialogue, particularly for learners who benefit from tactile representations during the brainstorming or emotional expression process.
