Where it came from
Released in 2011 as a seasonal promotional item, the Bunny and Chick set 40031-1 was designed to celebrate the Easter holiday. The set features two small, brick-built creatures alongside a brightly colored base decorated with flowers, reflecting the brand's tradition of creating accessible, affordable builds that capture the aesthetic of specific calendar events.
The design emphasizes a minimalist approach, utilizing basic geometric shapes to achieve recognizable character forms. As part of a broader series of holiday-themed seasonal releases, these sets were primarily intended as low-cost impulse purchases, appealing to both casual fans and those looking for modest seasonal decor. Upon its release, it was well-regarded for its efficient use of parts and charming, simplified character design.
