Where it came from
The Christmas Tree Truck, set 40083-1, was released by the LEGO Group in 2013 as a limited seasonal promotional gift. It was designed to capture the quintessential nostalgia of the holiday season, featuring a classic brick-built red pickup truck carrying a small pine tree in its bed. The design leans into a vintage aesthetic, utilizing a simple, sturdy build style that evokes the charm of mid-century holiday imagery.
This set was initially distributed as a gift with purchase during the 2013 holiday shopping season, serving as an incentive for customers spending a qualifying amount at official brand stores and through the online shop. Because it was never sold as a standalone retail item, it became a sought-after piece for collectors of seasonal displays. It is widely regarded as a staple of the holiday-themed collection, appreciated for its clever use of basic parts to create a recognizable and festive scene.
