Where it came from
The Commissioner Gordon minifigure was released in 2017 as part of the LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures series. This line was developed to coincide with the theatrical release of the film, expanding upon the characters established in the animation's unique aesthetic. The design reflects the character's appearance in the movie, featuring a distinctive trench coat torso print and a double-sided head depicting both his standard stoic expression and a worried look.
The figure was conceptualized by the LEGO design team to translate the film's stylistic, high-energy character models into the traditional minifigure format. It includes a specific accessory, a printed 1x2 tile representing a 'wanted' poster for Batman, which ties directly into the film's narrative. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the theme for its screen accuracy and the inclusion of detailed, character-specific accessories.
