Darth Vader Flashlight

The Darth Vader flashlight, released under the set number 5001313-1, emerged during the late 2000s as part of the broader Lego Star Wars merchandising expansion. These collectible flashlights were designed to bridge the gap between functional utility and the aesthetic appeal of iconic minifigures. The design scales up the traditional Lego Darth Vader figure, incorporating LED lights into the feet of the figurine, which allow for a practical beam while maintaining the recognizable silhouette of the Sith Lord.

The design team focused on maintaining the exact proportions of a standard Lego minifigure, ensuring the piece felt authentic to the brand's established visual language. By utilizing the movable arms and legs characteristic of the toys, the flashlight offered a tactile, interactive experience that resonated with both younger fans and adult collectors. It was released during a period where Lego sought to integrate its IP-licensed characters into everyday household objects, and it was generally well-received for its durability and the clever integration of lighting elements into the figure's base.
