Where it came from
Released in 2010 as part of the LEGO Toy Story theme, Desert Attack (7569-1) was designed to capture a specific sequence from the film Toy Story 3. The set features a desert landscape build and includes minifigures of Woody and the villainous desert bandit, providing a compact play experience that mirrors the imaginative scenes constructed by the film's characters. It was developed to capitalize on the global release of the third installment in the franchise, offering fans an accessible way to engage with the movie's desert-themed narrative.
The design focus for this set was on playability and scene recreation within a small footprint. Like many licensed sets from this era, the aesthetic follows the specific color palette of the film's animation, utilizing specialized molds to ensure the minifigures closely resembled their on-screen counterparts. Upon release, it was well-received by collectors and younger fans alike, serving as an entry-level set that complemented the larger offerings in the Toy Story 3 product line.
