The Dino Track Transport, released in 2005 under the short-lived Dino Attack theme, was designed to anchor a narrative-heavy line that departed from traditional adventure sets. The theme focused on a team of specialists equipped with specialized vehicles to capture bio-engineered dinosaurs loose in a city. This particular set was engineered to be the heavy-duty centerpiece of the line, emphasizing playability through a large transport truck, a containment cage, and an intricate pneumatic-style mechanism for launching nets and securing specimens.

Designers at the time leaned into a militaristic, industrial aesthetic, moving away from the more fantastical elements of previous prehistoric-themed sets. The color palette relied on a utilitarian mix of dark blues and lime green accents to denote the high-tech, task-force nature of the team.
