Where it came from
The Dragon on Skateboard set, identified by number 6644870-1, represents a modern, whimsical addition to the LEGO Group's extensive portfolio of promotional and seasonal polybag releases. Designed to appeal to a broad audience through its humorous juxtaposition of a mythical creature performing an athletic hobby, the set utilizes standard brick components to render a compact, stylized dragon figure mounted on a simple skateboard base.
This item emerged as part of the broader efforts by the manufacturer to offer accessible, small-scale builds that capture imagination through personality-driven character design. As is typical with these specialized promotional releases, the design team focused on maximizing play value and display potential within a limited piece count. It has been well-regarded by collectors for its niche appeal and the unconventional, lighthearted nature of the subject matter.
