Where it came from
The LEGO Educational Suitcase, cataloged as set 7000-2, was produced during the late 1970s as part of the company's dedicated efforts to integrate plastic building bricks into classroom environments. This kit was designed to serve as a versatile pedagogical tool, providing educators with a structured collection of elements intended to facilitate spatial reasoning and creative problem-solving exercises in early childhood development.
The design of the set reflects the utilitarian aesthetic prevalent in LEGO's educational division at the time, prioritizing functionality and transportability. Housed in a durable, compartmentalized carrying case, the collection offered a curated assortment of bricks intended to move beyond simple free play. While the set received little fanfare in the consumer retail market, it became a staple in European primary schools, representing a shift toward modular, hands-on learning materials.
