Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village, released in 2013 as set 10236, serves as a large-scale recreation of the iconic forest home of the Ewoks from the climax of Return of the Jedi. It was designed to capture the intricate, multi-level nature of the tree dwellings on the forest moon of Endor, featuring modular sections that allow for both open-play access and a display-ready aesthetic. The set is notable for its expansive minifigure selection, which provided fans with several unique characters from the film's final act.
The design team emphasized playability by incorporating features such as a tree-trunk hideout, a secret lightsaber stash, and a functioning rope bridge and net trap. Upon its release, the set was well-received by the collector community for its high piece count and its success in translating the organic, asymmetrical architecture of the film set into the rigid geometry of the LEGO building system. It remains a representative example of the Ultimate Collector Series style applied to a playset-oriented build.
