Where it came from
The Fairy Batman minifigure was released in early 2017 as part of the first series of The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures (set 71017). This series was designed to accompany the theatrical release of the film, capturing the whimsical and often absurd alternate costumes donned by Batman throughout the cinematic narrative. The figure features a distinctive set of molded plastic wings and a floral-patterned torso, reflecting the film's satirical approach to the Caped Crusader's traditional dark aesthetic.
The design of the Fairy Batman, like the rest of the series, was overseen by the LEGO design team to replicate the specific visual gags from the film's production. The inclusion of such an eccentric variant served as a playful subversion of Batman's serious persona, a theme central to the movie's humor. Upon release, the set was widely praised by the collector community for its high level of detail and the variety of unconventional character designs, making it a standout entry in the broader LEGO Batman catalog.
