Where it came from
The 45023-1 set is part of the LEGO Education series, specifically designed for use in classroom settings to facilitate storytelling and creative expression. Released as a modular resource, the set includes a diverse collection of fantasy-themed minifigures, such as dragons, knights, and mythical creatures. It was developed to provide educators with tangible tools that could help students explore narrative structure, character development, and imaginative play within a structured learning environment.
The design of these minifigures focuses on high-contrast visuals and archetypal character traits to ensure they are easily identifiable and engaging for children. Unlike retail LEGO sets, which often tie into specific intellectual properties, the figures in this set were crafted to be open-ended, allowing them to fit into various cultural myths and original stories. This design philosophy emphasizes utility and durability, ensuring the pieces could withstand frequent handling by multiple students over extended periods.
