Farm Animals

The LEGO Duplo Farm Animals set, numbered 2647-1, was introduced in the late 1990s as part of the broader Duplo Farm theme. Designed for children aged two to five, the set provided a tactile introduction to animal figures, focusing on large, rounded pieces that prioritized safety and ease of use for small hands. This era of Duplo design emphasized bright, primary colors and simple, recognizable shapes that encouraged early imaginative play and developmental motor skills.

The figures included in this set reflect the consistent design language of the late-20th-century Duplo system, which sought to bridge the gap between building blocks and miniature play figures. By featuring farm-themed creatures, LEGO intended to leverage familiar childhood iconography to foster role-playing scenarios. The set was well-regarded by parents and educators for its durability and its ability to integrate seamlessly with the larger Duplo building system, maintaining its relevance in secondary markets as a classic component of the preschool construction toy category.
