Where it came from
The LEGO Fire House set 570-1 was released in 1978 as part of a significant expansion for the company, coinciding with the debut of the modern LEGO Minifigure. This era marked a transition toward more structured, role-play-oriented town themes, and this set was designed to serve as a cornerstone for burgeoning urban layouts. It utilized the classic Legoland aesthetic, characterized by a bright, primary-color palette and a modular approach to building construction.
The design focused on the mechanical functionality of the fire station, featuring a large, functional bay door to accommodate emergency vehicles of the period. While the set is simplistic by contemporary standards, it was well-received by children and collectors for establishing the standardized scale of the Town series. Its design philosophy favored high playability and durability, setting the foundational blueprint for numerous fire station sets that would follow in the subsequent decades.
