Where it came from
Released in 2016 as part of the LEGO City Fire sub-theme, this set was designed as an entry-level introduction to the firefighting product line. It reflects the company’s long-standing tradition of providing smaller, affordable 'starter sets' that allow children to quickly populate their scenes with figures and modular gear, serving as a tactical complement to the larger fire stations and vehicles in the 2016 wave.
The set centers on utility and playability, featuring four minifigures—a fire chief, two firefighters, and a fire dog—along with a small hovercraft and a burner stand. The design team aimed to maximize the variety of accessories, including a fire extinguisher, a wrench, and a chainsaw, to facilitate narrative-driven emergency rescue scenarios typical of the City theme’s focus on civic services.
