Where it came from
Released in 2011 as part of the inaugural wave of the LEGO Ninjago theme, the Fire Temple (set 2507-1) served as the central playset for the original storyline. Designed to capture the aesthetic of traditional Japanese architecture blended with fantasy elements, it was created during the early development of the Ninjago lore, which centered on the Spinjitzu masters protecting their world from the Serpentine and other antagonists.
The set is distinguished by its intricate roof structures and the inclusion of the large golden dragon, a design choice intended to provide a high-value centerpiece for the line. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans for its scale and the inclusion of multiple exclusive minifigures, helping to cement Ninjago as a long-term anchor within the LEGO portfolio.
