Where it came from
The Forbidden Power Shield, set 853679-1, was released in 2017 as part of a promotional accessory line related to the Nexo Knights theme. Designed to be compatible with the physical Nexo Knights shields that interacted with the associated mobile app, this particular item served as a display and storage piece for collectors looking to organize their collection of digital-scanable shields.
The design emphasizes a rugged, futuristic aesthetic consistent with the Kingdom of Knighton's high-tech fantasy lore. It was marketed primarily to younger fans and completionists who required a centralized hub for their interactive play experience. Upon its release, it was well-regarded for its functional utility, providing a sturdy and thematic solution for managing the small, frequently misplaced plastic shield elements that defined the product line's digital integration.
