Formula Force

The Formula Force set, numbered 8237-1, was released in 2002 as part of the LEGO Technic line. This era of Technic was characterized by a shift toward more specialized, model-specific elements rather than the traditional girder-heavy builds of the 1990s. Designed to capture the aerodynamic aesthetic of open-wheel racing vehicles, the set utilized the 'CCB' or 'Construction Cycle Building' style, which focused on creating visually polished models through a combination of traditional bricks and specialized Technic connectors.

The model was designed to feature a functioning rear-wheel steering mechanism and a realistic piston engine that moved as the car was pushed. While it was aimed at a younger demographic of builders interested in mechanical functions, it was well-received for its sleek design and the inclusion of high-friction tires that gave it a distinct look compared to previous Technic cars.
