Where it came from
The Gamer's Market set was released in 2020 as part of the Lego Ninjago 'Prime Empire' story arc. This narrative sequence took inspiration from classic arcade games and 1980s aesthetic sensibilities, centering on a digital world where the main characters enter a video game. The set was designed to capture the vibrant, neon-drenched atmosphere of the Prime Empire hub, serving as a hub for both play and display within the wider Ninjago range.
The set includes several unique minifigures, including exclusive variants of the show's protagonists alongside the antagonist Avatar Harumi. The design team focused on providing a dense, multi-faceted build that recreated the bustling environment of a digital marketplace, complete with weapon stalls and accessories. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the theme for its high density of minifigures and its departure from traditional Ninjago settings, effectively translating the show's virtual world into a physical play space.
