Where it came from
The Good Morning Sparkle Babies! set, released under the Lego Movie 2 theme in 2019, was designed to capture the whimsical, vibrant aesthetic of the film's second installment. It features specific character iterations of Emmet and Lucy, accompanied by two brick-built Star figures, emphasizing the playful and surreal tone of the Duplo-inspired invaders from the movie.
The design of the set focuses on accessibility and character representation within a small, budget-friendly package. By incorporating the 'Sparkle Baby' figures, it highlights the transition between traditional Lego aesthetics and the colorful, blocky visuals found in the Apocalypsburg and Systar System segments of the film. Upon release, it was noted primarily for its inclusion of unique character variants that were otherwise difficult to obtain in larger, more expensive sets.
