Where it came from
The Goofy & Pluto BrickHeadz set, released in 2020 as part of the Disney line, represents a stylized interpretation of two of animation's most iconic characters. Designed to celebrate the heritage of classic cartoons, these figures utilize the distinctive blocky aesthetic characteristic of the BrickHeadz series, which emphasizes a simplified, geometric approach to character portraiture. The set was produced to offer fans a tangible, displayable tribute to the enduring friendship between the two figures, who have appeared together in numerous shorts since the 1930s.
The design process for this set focused on capturing the essential visual markers of the characters, such as Goofy’s signature hat and green sweater, and Pluto’s floppy ears and collar. By distilling these figures into the uniform BrickHeadz format, the designers sought to create a consistent look that fits alongside other figures in the franchise. Upon its release, the set was received as a charming addition to Disney-themed collections, appreciated by enthusiasts for its recognizability and the clever use of minimal parts to evoke complex character designs.
