Where it came from
The Halloween Bat, identified as set 40090-1, was released in 2014 as part of the LEGO seasonal promotional line. Designed to celebrate the autumn festivities, the set provided a small, accessible build intended to serve as a festive desk or shelf decoration. It reflects the company's tradition of releasing simple, thematic character models during the months of October and November to encourage seasonal engagement among fans.
The design utilizes a compact brick-built construction to capture a stylized, whimsical aesthetic rather than a realistic depiction of a bat. The model features poseable wings and a modest display stand, prioritizing playability and ease of assembly for younger builders or those looking for a quick seasonal project. Upon its release, it was received as a standard promotional item, valued primarily for its limited availability and thematic appeal during the Halloween season.
