Happy Explorers Stack 'n' Learn

The Happy Explorers Stack 'n' Learn set, identified as set number 2591-1, was released by LEGO during the mid-1990s as part of the Primo line. This sub-brand was specifically engineered for toddlers, featuring larger, rounded bricks designed to be safe and easily graspable for smaller hands. The set was created to facilitate early motor skill development and color recognition through basic stacking and sorting activities, embodying the company's expansion into the early childhood education market.

The aesthetic of the Primo line departed from the classic, sharp-edged LEGO system in favor of soft, ergonomic shapes and bright, primary colors. These elements were developed by the company’s internal design team to appeal to the developmental needs of infants and toddlers, focusing on tactile play and durability. While the Primo line was eventually discontinued in favor of the Duplo system, it remains a notable example of the company's mid-90s effort to create a specialized product category for the youngest builders.
