Harry Potter Magnet Set

The Harry Potter Magnet Set, cataloged as 852982-1, was released by the LEGO Group in 2011 as part of their broader licensing agreement with Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. These sets were designed to serve as functional accessories, featuring iconic minifigures mounted on rectangular 2x4 bricks that function as magnets, allowing fans to display the characters on metallic surfaces. This particular release coincided with the final installments of the film series, capitalizing on the peak of the franchise's commercial popularity and the nostalgia surrounding the conclusion of the cinematic saga.

The design of the set reflects the standard aesthetic of the LEGO Harry Potter theme at the time, prioritizing character recognition through detailed torso prints and iconic accessories. Like other magnet sets from this era, the figures were typically glued to the magnetic base, a decision made by the manufacturer to ensure durability for display purposes. The set was generally well-received by collectors and parents alike as a cost-effective way to acquire popular characters without purchasing larger, more expensive building sets.
