Where it came from
The LEGO Heart Book, set 40015, was released as a seasonal promotional item intended to serve as a customizable gift. Designed to function as a small, buildable keepsake, the set allows users to construct a miniature book-shaped frame that opens to reveal a heart motif. It reflects the broader LEGO strategy of creating low-cost, sentiment-driven sets that appeal to gift-givers during holidays like Valentine's Day.
The design prioritizes simplicity and modularity, using a limited palette of red and white elements to maintain a clean, aesthetic look. As part of a series of small-scale seasonal builds, it was received primarily as an accessible entry point for casual builders or as a thoughtful desktop decoration. Its design reflects a shift in the brand’s focus toward 'lifestyle' sets that transcend traditional toy categories.
