Where it came from
The Heartlake City Music Talent Show set, released as part of the LEGO Friends theme in 2024, is designed to reflect the updated aesthetic and diverse character-driven storytelling introduced in the series' 2023 reboot. Created to inspire imaginative roleplay centered around performance and friendship, the set features a rotating stage, a judging panel, and multiple mini-dolls, mirroring the modern, inclusive direction of the LEGO Friends line.
The set was developed by the LEGO design team to modernize the classic talent show trope through a vibrant, contemporary lens. By focusing on interactive play features like the stage rotation and the judge's scoring mechanism, the designers aimed to capture the excitement of amateur performances. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the series for its bright color palette and its ability to integrate seamlessly into the broader Heartlake City playset ecosystem.
