Where it came from
Released in 1994 as part of the LEGO Model Team sub-theme, the Highway Transport 6753 was designed to appeal to builders looking for more sophisticated, realistic truck models. At the time, the Model Team line focused on capturing the aesthetic of real-world vehicles, utilizing a mix of standard bricks and specialized pieces to achieve sleeker curves and greater mechanical detail than the standard city sets of that era.
The set features a heavy-duty truck and trailer combination, designed with a focus on play functionality, including a steering mechanism and a detachable trailer. It was well-regarded by the AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) community for its complex build and its role in bridging the gap between basic construction toys and more detailed technical model building, reflecting the brand's shift toward serving an older demographic of hobbyists.
