Where it came from
The LEGO Holiday Jet, set 4032, was released in 1999 as a promotional polybag item. Its creation was part of a partnership between the LEGO Group and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), intended to serve as a high-quality travel souvenir or airline-exclusive gift for children flying with the carrier. The design reflects the distinct blocky aesthetic of late 1990s promotional sets, prioritizing a recognizable silhouette within a very limited piece count.
Designed during a period when LEGO frequently collaborated with various corporate entities for exclusive mini-builds, the Holiday Jet features a simple fuselage design and the iconic SAS branding on its wings. While it was never intended for wide retail release, the set became a sought-after piece for completionist collectors due to its status as a piece of aviation-branded memorabilia, marking a specific era of cross-industry marketing that defined the late twentieth-century LEGO promotional landscape.
